8th K-Lovers Festival at Korea Corner
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Romania, together with the Romanian-Korean Studies Center (CSRK) of the Romanian-American University, organizes the 8th edition of K-Lovers Festival between 22nd and 26th of May 2023, aiming to bring the culture and traditions of the Republic of Korea closer to the Romanian audience.
This year’s Festival will commence with the Buchaechum workshop (Korean traditional fan dance), held by Seo Mingseo – artistic director, choreographer, teacher and Buchaechum artist, director of Berlin Korean Dance Project, held between 22nd and 24th of May 2023. The series of events continues on May 24th with a Samulnori workshop (Korean traditional percussion) organized under the guidance of Park Myunghyun – artist and Samulnori teacher at the National Gugak Center and the Global Music Academy from Berlin.
Participants will have the chance to attend the lecture ”Is Korean not too Korean? Impact of Globalization”, on 25th of May 2023, starting from 10:00. The class will be held by Prof. No Seung Kwan from Hanyang University, South Korea. The main event of the Festival will be marked by Korea Corner Gala celebrated on Thursday, May 25th 2023, from 18:00 in the Aula Magna of the Romanian-American University.
The ceremony celebrating the 2nd anniversary of the Korea Corner project includes the award ceremony for the best students of the Romanian-Korean Studies Center and promises an unforgettable show provided by the two special guests, as well as by the Center’s volunteers.
K-Lovers will conclude on Friday, May 26th 2023, through a variety of activities dedicated to Korean Culture, focusing on themes such as cinema and history, calligraphy, dance, music and art. For details, please refer to the program below.
