School of Tourism and Hospitality Management
Every teenager wishes to find their path in life, every parent dreams of seeing their child enjoying success.
Why tourism? Why hospitality? Why aviation?
A career in the tourism, hospitality, or aviation industry can be one filled with many personal satisfactions. What is unique about choosing this path is that once you have taken the first steps and understood what it is all about, and you cannot turn back. Everything you have dreamed of starts to take shape, and the experiences you’ll have will shape your personality, career, and life.
Tourism, hospitality, and aviation are fields with a strongly positive vibe, centered on people and their well-being. And what greater satisfaction can you have in your professional life than knowing you have made people happy? That you have been the magician who offered them a few days of fairy tale, away from daily worries, work obligations, rush hour traffic… It is a career that allows you to travel, helps you improve your communication skills and become proactive, opens many doors to new contacts, and above all, does not give you time to get bored. Every day is different!
Why choose the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management? Why choose the Romanian-American University?
In our vision, academic education is a complex process that should result in transforming today’s adolescents into the specialists who will change tomorrow’s world into a better, more efficient, more high-performing, and more empathetic world. We, the professors of the Schools of Tourism and Hospitality Management, aim for our students to have unique educational experiences, to instill confidence in their own abilities, and to give them the opportunity to practice, innovate, engage, and become an integral part of the generation that will place Romanian tourism on the map of global tourism elites.
We are in a market where educational offerings are approximately similar, which is why we have decided that it is time to offer our students differentiated study programs, revealing experiences, and an attractive and novel learning environment. Consequently, we have consistently invited our business partners, our successful alumni, close to the students and created a space that inspires and motivates them.
What do we do for our students beyond courses, seminars, and exams?
We encourage them to take advantage of semester or short-term study scholarships in the European Union, the United States, or Asia, to apply for internships both domestically and abroad, to get involved in organizing thematic events for Christmas, Halloween and so forth, charitable and fundraising events, events promoting tourism, education, and sports (like the May 1st celebration at the seaside!), summer and winter schools, to participate in courses with guest professors from all over the world, to engage in mentoring with lower-year colleagues, to take on the role of guides for our foreign guests. At the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, we sing, we dance, we paint, we compose poetry, we play sports, we act… Our students are encouraged and supported to develop their talents so they can later use them in their careers.
Moreover, our students benefit of:
- scholarships funded by our partners in the HORECA or Aviation industries.
- study scholarships funded by RAU – the top 20% of the students.
- the chance to win airline tickets, city breaks, castle tours, flights on small airplanes, or even cash prizes if they get involved in projects with our business partners.
