This year, the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the Romanian-American University introduced a unique project in Romania called Accor Corner to give their students a hopeful beginning in their desired field of study. This was made possible through dedicated efforts and a new collaboration with the Accor Group, a renowned name in the hospitality industry on a global scale..

Accor Corner is a space born out of passion and a desire to establish a direct and robust connection between students and the business environment, right within the premises of the Romanian-American University. It is concrete proof that determination, engagement, and collaboration are essential elements in creating a unique educational experience that goes beyond the classroom, offering students the opportunity to learn about the hospitality industry from the best professionals in the field.

“Accor Corner is not just a space dedicated to students of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. It brings the vibrant spirit and hospitality culture of Accor into the academic setting and creates the perfect symbiosis between education and the hotel business. It is a place where students can share their passion for the industry and have the chance to turn their projects into reality under the direct guidance of Accor Group specialists and our faculty members. The idea stemmed from the need to create a dedicated hospitality study corner, distinct from the usual classroom, one that embodies the concept of a hotel lobby, an innovative social space!” declared Camelia Gheorghe, Dean of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the Romanian-American University.

In this specially designed area to create a welcoming and informal atmosphere, students from the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management will meet with representatives from Accor across various business sectors. They will benefit from mentorship, networking, internship opportunities, unique learning experiences, career coaching, and practical skill development. All these activities are meticulously designed to shape the future generations of leaders in the hotel and hospitality industry.

„We embark on this journey with confidence that our initiative is the first step in a series of passion projects we hope to implement as soon as possible. They are meant to ignite curiosity and stimulate the imagination of the upcoming generation of specialists in the fields of hospitality, tourism, and aviation”, said Patricia Dodu, Ph.D. Lecturer.
