The visit of Dr. Jeremy Slagoski, a leader in Language Education and Innovation, at the Romanian-American University
We were pleased to host Dr. Jeremy Slagoski, a distinguished professional from the United States, who visited and interacted with faculty members at the Romanian-American University.
Dr. Slagoski is an accomplished professional with a Ph.D. in Teaching & Learning from the University of Iowa and more than 25 years of experience in instructional design and English language teaching. His extensive experience includes working in various countries such as the United States, Japan, Korea, Russia, and China. In 2019, he was appointed as the Director of the Applied Language Institute at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, where he led several transformative initiatives. Dr. Slagoski’s contributions include the successful launch of online courses, the implementation of a dynamic pathway program, and the development of an innovative evening program. His leadership and expertise have helped the institute achieve remarkable success in language education and training.
Dr. Slagoski is a leader with a profound dedication to enhancing the educational journey for students. He believes that a quality education is the foundation for a successful future, and as such, he has built his leadership philosophy around this core belief. Dr. Slagoski understands that to achieve this goal, he must create a culture of continuous professional development among the staff and faculty under his supervision. He does this by providing them with the necessary resources, guidance, and support to enable them to grow professionally and personally.
Moreover, Dr. Slagoski is an accomplished researcher who is currently focusing his efforts on the impact of generative artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, on linguistics. His research seeks to understand how these technologies can be used to enhance language learning and how they can improve the language skills of students. Dr. Slagoski’s work is highly regarded in the academic community, and his findings are likely to shape the future of language education.
