Short description:
I am a researcher specializing in the convergence of computer science, applied mathematics, and neuroscience to advance the field of artificial intelligence.
My research is focused on the development and improvement of AI algorithms, with a particular emphasis on their learning and decision-making processes. In this endeavour, I employ a combination of mathematical and algorithmic approaches, complemented by insights from both experimental and computational neuroscience, to create better algorithms for learning and decision-making, aiming to achieve a more human-like level of cognition in artificial intelligence systems.
My work also delves into multi-agent systems, focusing on cooperative, competitive, and mixed-motive scenarios. I am interested in emergent behaviours, negotiation strategies, and group intelligence formation, with broad implications for distributed AI systems, game theory, and socio-economic models.
Another aspect of my research involves using mathematical and machine learning models to simulate socio-economic systems and financial markets. Additionally, I address AI-generated disinformation by developing models to create and detect synthetic media, contributing to ethical AI discussions.
As an educator, I’m committed to merging academic depth with practical application. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a deep understanding of theoretical concepts and applying them in real-world contexts. My methodologies range from interactive lectures to hands-on labs and collaborative projects, ensuring that students not only learn but also effectively apply their knowledge in realistic scenarios.
Beyond academia, I lead AI innovation and research at CoreAI, enhancing decision-making across various industries. My entrepreneurial role in start-ups has honed my skills in implementing AI in business contexts. Besides my research, my other passion lies in exploring AI’s potential and fostering collaborations that bridge academic research with practical applications.
