RAU International Staff Week – summer edition 2023
The Romanian-American University, through the Erasmus+ Office, organizes a new summer edition of the International Staff Week in the field of Intercultural Communication.
The International Staff Week entitled „Preparing Students for an Intercultural Environment” will take place between 19th and 23rd of June 2023 in the RAU campus and will gather representatives from our partner universities in 10 countries from North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
In this age of audience fragmentation, global presence, data overload, niche marketing, downsizing, reorganizing and accountability, effective oral and written communication skills are in demand.
Without effective communication even everyday tasks are difficult, if not impossible. The average person takes messages at face value without evaluating the true meaning and intent of the communication. But good communication cannot be achieved without an understanding of cultural backgrounds, cultural differences and similarities, and apart from mastering the subcultures present all over the world.
During the International Staff Week the participants will be engaged in training activities, workshops & discussions, as follows:
- Intercultural Communication Course
- Romanian Crash Course
- Meetings & discussions with RAU Schools’ management & RAU representatives
- Exchange of Best Practices
- Networking with colleagues from other universities
- Presentation of own university
- Discovering RAU campus
Moreover, they will benefit from activities related to the Romanian heritage – history, culture, traditions and nature, as the program includes a visit to the Village Museum in Bucharest, Bucharest City Tour, as well as a Cultural Trip outside Bucharest to Bran Castle and Brașov City.
